Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Mar 16
Black cherry aroma accented by pepper and spices. Supple and rich in the mouth, with a sappy peppery element leavening the wine's flesh. A distinctly rich style of Combottes, finishing with ripe, building tannins and excellent length. Roumier normally finds this cuvée less mineral than normal for Chambolle, and sometimes even heavy. But the vines clearly did well in the cool 2013 growing season.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
